The past few days have left a little to be desired, training wise. Tuesday, I was able to get another 2.7mi in before heading over to Andy and Dawn's house for dinner with them and Jennifer. That was good.
Wednesday was spent at Water Country with the Middle School group. Is there a way to not eat fast food when with the MS group? The answer is of course, NO! At the park: pizza. After the park: Burger King. And no running...instead walking around barefoot in a bathing suit all day. That has fun written all over it! ;) In all seriousness though, it was a really fun day. I got to spend all morning and afternoon with my new 6th grade girls. They are such fun! I am looking forward to a splendid year.
Yesterday I hung out with a friend who live .6mi away from me. You'd think since we live so close we'd get to see each other often. That is not the case. But last night we made time to walk the lake together. It was such fun that I ended up staying for dinner. Good times! So, the total for yesterday is 1.2mi ran (0.6mi at a time) and 3mi walked around the lake.
Tonight I hope to get 3mi in before going over to help a friend pack for a move to Alabama...sadness! Tomorrow, I'll get another 3mi in then head down to CT to visit some dear friends who just had twins! Whaahooo!

starting over hurts!
Note to self: taking 2 months off is not wise. Getting back into the swing of things hurts! My muscles are yelling at me today saying, "What are you doing?! We enjoyed being lazy!!!"
True, my legs are tight today, however it's the good kind of pain...you know, when you feel like you've worked hard for that pain and you deserve it. I kinda like it... :) And I know that as I continue to run, it will get easier and less painful.
Yesterday I went for 2.7(ish) miles on the trail in Lexington. It is SO convenient to do that after work! After I made dinner, Jennifer came over and we walked the lake. For the record, that's 7mi put in yesterday, not all of it was run - it was mostly walked, but still!!
Tonight I'll put in another 2.5mi before spending some quality time with quality friends. :)

2 months later...
Finally. I've gotten off my bum and gotten the drive to start running again. This summer has been so busy that it's been hard to find some down time. And when I have found that down time, I've been not running, but simply relaxing!
I don't know about you but I have been glued to watching the Olympics! I've stayed up late and cheered on the gymnastics team, the beach volleyball teams (a personal fav!), the swimmers, divers...pretty much whatever has been on, I've watched. One thing that totally stood out to me this weekend was watching the women's marathon. Who ever thinks watching people run for over 2hrs is a waste of time, I really don't care. It was amazing to see the endurance of these women. The woman who won was 38 years old! That is awesome. I want to be able to run a 5K when I'm 38, let alone a marathon in 2:33!!!
Well, watching them was what made me wish that I had been running all summer and how much I missed it. Yeah, I'm probably crazy for missing something like running but honestly, I have! So yesterday was an amazing day...and I got out and attempted the lake loop (4mi). I obviously didn't run it all, but I got in a good 2mi.
It felt really good to be out. It really made me regret that I hadn't done it all summer... But I'm back and ready to get out there again. Hooray. :)
