flashback friday - european edition #5

It's my 300th post!  How delightful we celebrate it with a flashback.  This week was busy...I didn't get a lot of miles in and I didn't have time to get this blog post posted!  Someone reminded me about it today, so I wanted to get this up before too much longer.  Wait no more, here is the next installment of Flashback Friday.

I give you German beer and an Irishman.  We stopped off for lunch in a little town for a walk around and a bite to eat.  I'm not even sure where we were at this point...we were on our way to Oberammergau, Ger, but not there yet.

I wasn't yet 21, so not legal to drink in the States...but when in Germany...am I right?!  Aaah, a good and true German brew.  I couldn't tell you what kind it was, or even if it was good, but I remember being excited to legally order a beer in front of my parents.  They probably even paid for it.

Also of note at the little lunch was our sweet, Irish waiter, Liam.  I thought he was absolutely adorable...it probably had quite a bit to do with his accent, let's be honest.  I love a good accent.  :)  Not sure whose idea it was to get a picture of me and him (probably mine) but it captures the memory.

There was another (very attractive!) guy that my dad snapped a picture of me talking to on the streets of Vienna...He was dressed in old Viennese period clothing and handing out pamphlets of some sort.  We didn't say much because we couldn't understand each other, but there was a lot of smiling and nodding.  It was also a fun moment to remember captured by the ever present camera around my father's neck.  (As much as I complain about stopping every 50yds for him to take a picture, sometimes I'm grateful.)
